HPT is a form of Moist Heat Therapy (MHT) by virtue of using hot packs to help raise the temperature of soft tissues directly below the surface of the skin. This process enlarges blood vessels below the surface, relaxing tissues and temporarily relieving painful symptoms. This also increases the circulation of the blood and relaxing of muscles which is very helpful before and/or after chiropractic adjustments, therapeutic exercises and other treatments.
